An SME business-insurance platform whose quote engine was rebuilt for near-instant quotes, with an insurer API integration, a payment gateway and sign-in shared across subdomains. Built at Logix Built Solutions.

## The problem

Quotes took more than 10 minutes of synchronous lookups and recalculation. People abandoned the flow at the moment they were most ready to buy, so speed was the conversion problem, not a detail.

## Results

- **<2 min** quote delivery, down from 10+
- **<30s** for cached quotes
- **~0** support calls about speed

## What I did

1. **Profiling.** Instrumented the flow and found repeated expensive lookups blocking every quote.
2. **Caching.** A Redis layer for rate tables and partial results, so repeated work is skipped.
3. **Parallel calls.** The four insurer API calls that ran one after another now run at the same time.
4. **Database tuning.** Indexes and selective denormalisation on the data each quote depends on.
5. **Streamed progress.** The UI streams progress, so a quote feels instant while it finishes.
